Research Interests and Specialties:
Intra-group Conflict in Mediation, Cross-cultural Conflict on Campus, Cultural Differences in Attitudes toward  Conflict , Effects of Cooperation and Competition on Small Group Processes, Conlfict Resolution in the Labor Market, Computer-aided Data Analysis in Qualitative Research.

Professor Weitzman is an Associate Professor in the Graduate Program in Dispute Resolution and an adjunct faculty member in our sister program, the Master of Science in Public Affairs (MSPA).   Weitzman is a social and organizational psychologist specializing in the study of conflict. His work focuses on conflict within and between groups, with emphases on organizational conflict, cross-cultural conflict, and inter-group relations. He works with a wide variety of organizations in both the public and private sectors, including organizations in education, government, law enforcement, social services, business, and the courts. Professor Weitzman also does extensive work on research methodology, and is Review Editor for the journal, Field Methods .

He has published articles in the Journal of Clinical Geropsychology , Analyses of Social Issues and Public Policy, and International Journal of Aging and Human Development .

NEWS BRIEF:

 

Eben Weitzman was an Academic Visitor at Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s Department of Management and Marketing from December 8 through 19, where he conducted seminars on research methodology, advised students and faculty on research projects, and explored potential research collaborations.
