David L. Levy holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from Harvard Business School and is currently Professor of Management at the University of Massachusetts Boston. His research examines the intersection of business strategy and politics in the development of international systems of governance. In the last few years, he has studied the engagement of American and European multinational corporations in the oil and automobile industries with the emerging international regime to control greenhouse gases.
Dr. Levy has published in leading business journals, including Sloan Management Review, Journal of International Business Studies, and Strategic Management Journal. He has undertaken research projects in cooperation with the OECD, the UN Centre for Transnational Corporations, and the US EPA. He is an advisor in the development of the Massachusetts Climate Change Action Plan and works with the STEP program in the state to provide support for growing environmental technology companies. With a grant from the Massachusetts Renewable Energy Trust, he is researching the potential of the renewable energy business cluster in Massachusetts. He is also currently co-editing a book titled Business and International Environmental Governance, to be published by MIT Press.
